For a seedling to grow in the forest, it needs good soil, water, and sunlight. It’s dropped from elder trees with deep roots, hopefully in a place that supports growth. In Willow Bay, filmmaker Aaron Stone explores how his family has supported the love of the natural world for generations. He delves into the history of the land surrounding the once free flowing Allegheny River. This area is home to generations of experiences that Aaron uncovers by sitting down with his family and a member of the Seneca Nation. The film is a study of how roots in the outdoors are set down early in childhood, and can ripple down through generations.
